Just a few more days and Spring 2015 will be upon us!
This post is for all of you closet DIY’ers that think you can’t DIY (whatever your desired project may be).
I have heard from so many of you that thought your age or gender was a deterrent, or the fact that you never used tools before, or like me you weren’t good at math, or had people around you who made fun of you, or were told that women don’t build things unless they want to make their men feel insecure or they have something they have to prove. The reasons are endless.
Building a tiny house is not a gender specific goal. It doesn’t mean you have anything to prove. It may be for you just like it was for me, something I wanted to do. Those who loved me got on board and over time didn’t think the idea was so nuts after all.
There is an immense amount of personal satisfaction that comes from having goals in life. They keep you looking forward and thinking forward. And when you look back after completion, it is with satisfaction and pride. Without ever saying a word those around you who need inspiration will find themselves inspired in ways that are meaningful for their uses.
Tiny house just went through record breaking low temps and record breaking snow falls, and I have never been cozier. When I look around, my mind plays memories and those memories warm me.
I’ll continue to add to this blog as meaningful posts strike me, but based upon all of the feedback and emails over time I’m going to start another blog in the coming weeks that touches on other projects taking place n my life. Hopefully you will find this new blog as interesting and meaningful for your purposes and will follow along with me there too.
