framing

Prior to framing, I read several books; books on tiny houses, cottages, building codes, standard construction practices, and more.  I practically lived on the DIY television channels for months on end, even watching re-runs of re-runs.

Framing this project, I used a hybrid method that incorporates the best practices I could find and adapt to something that could be constructed on this trailer (coupling it with the inherent imperfections that come with a first-time project),

When in doubt, I overbuilt if at all possible.  For example, using screws cost about 4 times as much as using nails would have cost but the added stability and durability was well worth it.
